I went ahead and played with the distance between each cell. I was able to get them to over lap enough to connected while still allowing light to pass through. I kind of like the cell, but I may still experiment using a different loft. Let me know what you think.

you definitely need a better / different loft. the overlapping cells seem to be more successful than before!
